This was very interesting, and I enjoyed hearing your ideas and opinions. Does anyone really believe the new Pope is a Marxist? I had not heard this before, and it made me catch my breath with incredulity.
    Regards from England, Pete.

  2. Prole Center says:

Just to be clear, this podcast is from Espresso Stalinist, not Prole Center original content. I’ve never heard anyone accuse the Pope of being a Marxist, but people, and especially Americans unfortunately, never cease to amaze me with their ignorance and sheer stupidity. I’m not sure what the current stats are, but a few years ago at least 40% of Americans believed with absolute conviction that Barack Obama is a socialist!!

  3. beetleypete says:

I have read previously, that some Americans believe that they are ruled by Marxists, or Muslim fundamentalists. As an outsider, this seems incredible, but it is apparently widespread. Here was my take on that situation, from August, 2013.

I understand that you are not Espresso Stalinist now, but I still enjoyed it!
    Regards from England, Pete.

  4. Prole Center says:

You see what I have to deal with here? Remember the scene from “Planet of the Apes” where Charlton Heston is locked in his cage, and the apes are tormenting him by hosing him down with some kind of water cannon? He’s reached his limit and he’s screaming in mental anguish, “It’s a MADHOUSE!! It’s a MADHOUSE!!”

Well, sometimes I feel like that.

  5. beetleypete says:

Understandable. Impossible to imagine, but understandable. Perhaps I should be thankful, to live in England? Hard to countenance, but eminently preferable to your madhouse.
    Regards and best wishes, Pete.
