Jeremy Corbyn’s first PMQs exchange with David Cameron

Well done! As a socialist and an internationalist I’m ashamed that I am just now getting to know Jeremy Corbyn.

Corbyn did well, but is facing mounting criticism about not singing the National Anthem at the Battle of Britain memorial service. He has also alluded to the fact that he will not bow to the Queen if required, which has been jumped on by the media too. Despite all this, public opinion was positive about his open attitude to interviews, and the fact that he asked questions from ‘real people’ during the parliamentary session.

He has made a refreshing change to politics here, at least for now. But his Socialist policies will struggle to gain widespread acceptance. Although I support him, I too have a problem with his attachment to staying in the European Union, which is just another branch of international capitalism, and a European empire, in all but name.

    Best wishes, Pete.
