This is a really good article, but I have a few problems with it that I’d like to briefly outline:
- The author claims that Muslims make up a significant portion of the U.S. population and the electorate; this simply is not true – the figure is about 1% of the population.
- He mentions the Orlando shooter’s connection with U.S. intelligence agencies through his father, but then continues to refer to so-called terrorist attacks as “blowback” when, in fact, the intelligence connection implies the possibility of a planned covert operation popularly known as a false flag attack. It should be emphasized that this incident is not just blowback, but perhaps some combination of that resentment and backlash mixed with CIA or FBI manipulation and planning.
- The last paragraph makes the case, which has become all too prevalent among what passes for an American left that a socialist political movement absolutely needs solidarity and a coalition with the bourgeois fueled and directed LGBTQIA* “community.”
* Yes, they have added a few more letters to that already cumbersome acronym!
